Ex-NFL player Jamal Lewis has sent a request to a bankruptcy court in Atlanta to have his Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing switched to Chapter 7 in order to sell his assets to pay off his debts. Lewis filed for bankruptcy in April, according to Reuters.
The former Baltimore Ravens running back listed $14.5 million in assets and $10.6 million in debts. After his ten season career in the league, he ventured into theme parks, resorts, trucking, and hotels.
The 32 year-old failed to show up for an interview this week with court officials after he failed to submit necessary financial paperwork. Lewis is one of the many former NFL players who have filed a lawsuit against the league for concussion-related injuries.
